MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION PRIVACY POLICY NOTICE
as of June 15, 2001

PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE

We at Mutual Aid Association understand the personal privacy of our present, former, and prospective customers is important. Maintaining the confidentiality of the nonpublic personal information that you provide to us is a Mutual Aid Association priority.

The federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) generally prohibits a financial institution, directly or through its affiliates, from sharing nonpublic personal information about you with a non-affiliated third party unless the institution provides you with a notice of its privacy policies and practices. In compliance with the GLBA, we are providing you with this notice of the privacy policies and practices of Mutual Aid Association.

OUR PRIVACY POLICIES AND PRACTICES

1. Our practices regarding information confidentiality and security:

Internally, we restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

2. Information we collect:

  • We collect nonpublic personal information about you of the following types or from the following sources:
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, or from our agents.
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others.
  • Information relating to the nature and value of property that you insure with us or that you wish to insure with us.
  • Information relating to insurance risks, insurance claims, or potential insurance claims.

3. Information we may disclose to third parties, whether or not they are affiliated with us:

We may disclose your name, address, and type of insurance to companies that perform printing and/or mailing services on our behalf. Any such disclosure shall be limited to the information needed to carry out such services. We do not disclose any other nonpublic personal information about our customers or prospective or former customers, except as required or permitted by law. Non-affiliated third parties to whom we may disclose such nonpublic personal information may include, for example, current or perspective reinsurers, and liability insurance companies to whom we may transmit applications or other information.

4. Reservation of the right to disclose information in unforeseen circumstances:

Mutual Aid Association and its affiliates, if any, reserve the right to transfer your information (including but not limited to your address, name, age, sex, zip code, state and country of residency, and other information that you provide) to a third party entity that (1) concentrates its business in a similar practice or service; (2) agrees to be Mutual Aid Association's successor in interest with regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collected; and (3) agrees to abide by our privacy policy. Mutual Aid Association would only do this in connection with a potential transfer of its interests, which in not under consideration.
